I have been having problems accessing the apple itunes music store via itunes since last Friday and wondered if anyone out there is having the same problem.

I get a connection refused entry when trying to access music store.

If anyone has been able to get into itunes music store since Friday could they answer my post as Apple seem to think its my ISP that is at fault.

I am in the same boat as you.  The apple forums have plenty more people who use orange that can't access iTunes as well.

I have just emailed orange to point out that apple might be a bit upset that alot of potential customers can't buy anything from them and t get it sorted.

Everyone with this problem should email orange they will do something if we get up their nose enough.

i know about the apple forum, i have a few entries on there myself. i was just wondering if anyone had been able to access the music store using orange.

according to broadband tech (??) support they are not blocking the music store.

i am now trying livebox support to see if they can assist!!

I'm having exactly the same problem. Also could someone test to see if they can access ########. It's been unavailible with a similar problem for a similar length of time.

Suspiciously Orange also have a music store and one of their 'shopping partners' is M&S, a direct competitor to Next. But they wouldn't do something as brazen as block the competing websites, would they....?

Oh and I'm using a different router than a livebox and I've got the same problem, don't let tech support lead you round in cricles and waste your money by sending you there.

How bizarre, #### website is also unavailable. and halifax-#### website is not working either. so that would be the same problem as phobos.#### which is the website address of the music store apparently.

I wonder if there are more out there.

I gave up with livebox support as they were rubbish and rude and too busy watching tv in the background...

I can get itunes, no prob, but not Apple's dotmac service which is my email provider (for 4 days now) either directly or through web access. I am being told in the Apple dotmac support discussion board that this is probably down to Orange as my ISP - others reporting the same problem also on Orange have been able to connect when they use a different ISP. Worth trying that if you can access another provider to establish where the problem is?

Sorry - correction to my last. I cant get Music Store either - was fooled by my i-tunes podcast downloads working OK. I cant get the Next site either. Surely this can't be deliberate? I have a Belkin router and have tried rebooting it to no avail.

Its got to be something wrong with Orange then. When I spoke to tech support earlier I didn't know about the Next problem but he mentioned something about there being an issue with Halifax, I have also been unable to access any of the halifax bank websites from home but have been able to from work.

I think there are more .#### websites that Orange is not working with for some reason including ####. I have emailed tech support with the website addresses as it was pointless talking to the guy at livebox support.

maybe u should do the same to see if they start taking any notice.

I have a response from orange. Something to do with Orange's security settings for access to secure websites. Basically some servers will not talk to Orange servers. Orange customers will not be able to access a number of UK banking sites and bizarrely enough mfi and next and possibly others ?!?

Orange are only looking into websites that customers complain about. I have asked them to look into phobos.#### and next but I think it will take more people to call them before they do anything about it.

The guy on the phone nearly went as far to blame Thursdays' disruption in the UK (terror plot) as being the cause of the security setting amendments!

I'm not sure whether to believe them or not but as long as they fix the problem. I wasn't given a timescale but just to keep trying the websites!!
